THE HARISHCHANDRA is a nonprofit media organization (Platform) has been founded with the Intent to accelerate independent journalism, strengthen the democracy, improve global ranking and restore the trust of the public on media.
The aim is to be a mighty platform and support system for journalism and to provide wide services and support related to journalism to be the last man’s voice; and that is a foremost news, analysis and opinion website which published in English, Hindi, Gujarati, languages in the public interest. That is Establish, own, maintained and funded by the HARISHCHANDRA PRESS CLUB AND MEDIA FOUNDATION (HPCMF) a not-for-profit company registered under Section 8 of the Company Act, 2013.

The Values of Journalism
Truth & Accuracy
Journalists cannot always guarantee ‘truth’, but getting the facts right is the cardinal principle of journalism. We should always strive for accuracy, give all the relevant facts we have and ensure that they have been checked. When we cannot corroborate information we should say so.
Independence
Journalists must be independent voices; we should not act, formally or informally, on behalf of special interests whether political, corporate or cultural. We should declare to our editors – or the audience – any of our political affiliations, financial arrangements or other personal information that might constitute a conflict of interest.
Fairness and Impartiality
Most stories have at least two sides. While there is no obligation to present every side in every piece, stories should be balanced and add context. Objectivity is not always possible, and may not always be desirable (in the face for example of brutality or inhumanity), but impartial reporting builds trust and confidence.
Humanity
Journalists should do no harm. What we publish or broadcast may be hurtful, but we should be aware of the impact of our words and images on the lives of others.
Accountability
A sure sign of professionalism and responsible journalism is the ability to hold ourselves accountable. When we commit errors we must correct them and our expressions of regret must be sincere not cynical. We listen to the concerns of our audience. We may not change what readers write or say but we will always provide remedies when we are unfair.
Note From The Founding Editors
लोकतंत्र को बनाये रखने के लिए चार मजबूत स्तम्भो को निर्मित किया गया। 1. न्यायपालिका, 2. कार्यपालिका, 3. विधायका, 4. मीडिया, इस चौथे खम्बे को बाकी 3 इकाइयों के काम पर निगाह रखने, जनहित की सूचनाये समय पर प्रसारित करने, लोकव्यवस्था निर्माण करने व समाज को एक सूत्र में बांधे रखने के आधार पर रखा गया।
लेकिन आज मीडिया एक सेवा नहीं बल्कि प्रोफेशन होता जा रहा है। जिसके चलते आज स्थिति यह आ गई है की जो मीडिया लोकतंत्र का ‘चौथा स्तंभ’ होने का दम भरता था, धीरे धीरे अपनी विश्वसनीयता खोता जा रहा है। पत्रकारिता का एकमात्र उद्देश्य सेवा होना चाहिए। इस लिए ऐसे मीडिया संस्थान की स्थापना आवश्यक थी जो पत्रकारिता से संबन्धित सभी आवश्यक सेवाएँ उपलब्ध करने के लिए कार्य करें, जो धन कमाने के लिए पत्रकारिता ना करें, संस्थान का उद्देश्य केवल, पत्रकारिता, जनहित और जनकल्याण हो, जहां सिर्फ पत्रकार और पाठक को महत्व दिया जाए। पत्रकारों की नियुक्ति, खबरों की कवरेज जैसे फैसले जनता तथा पत्रकारिता के हित को ध्यान में रखकर लिए जाए, ना कि कंपनी, संस्थान, मालिक या किसी नेता या विज्ञापनदाता को ध्यान में रखकर तथा संस्थान अपने नजरिए, विचारधारा, समझोतों के आधार पर लेखक, पत्रकार को खबर के कवरेज और प्रकाशन के लिए बाध्य ना करें, अपने निजी सम्बन्धों को बचाने एवं संस्थान के मुनाफे के लिए पत्रकारों की खबरों का प्रकाशन ना रोके, पत्रकारों को पत्रकारिता करने के साथ साथ जनहित में खबरों के प्रकाशन की भी पूरी स्वतंत्रता मिले तथा पत्रकारिता, राजनीतिक, कॉर्पोरेट या किसी भी अन्य प्रकार के दबाव से मुक्त हो।
फरवरी 2021 में ‘द हरिश्चंद्र’ के स्थापना की मुख्य वजह यही रही। एक संस्थान के रूप में ‘द हरिश्चंद्र’ जनहित और लोकतांत्रिक मूल्यों के अनुसार चलने के लिए प्रतिबद्ध है। खबरों के विश्लेषण, पड़ताल और उन पर टिप्पणी देने के अलावा हमारा उद्देश्य रिपोर्टिंग के पारंपरिक स्वरूप को बचाए रखने एवं जनहित में खबरों के प्रकाशन हेतु प्लेटफार्म एवं अन्य आवश्यक सेवाएँ तथा सहयोग उपलब्ध करने का भी है।
अगर ऐसी पत्रकारिता को बचाए रखना है तो इसे संपादकीय और आर्थिक स्वतंत्रता भी देनी ही होगी और इसका एक ही रास्ता है कि आमजन को इसमें भागीदार बनना होगा तथा ऐसे संस्थानों को चलाने में मदद करनी होगी। इस उद्देश्य की तरफ ये हमारा छोटा ही सही पर महत्वपूर्ण कदम है। समाज की किसी भी समस्या को निश्चित रूप से केवल पत्रकारिता द्वारा समाप्त नहीं किया जा सकता है लेकिन पत्रकारिता द्वारा उस समस्या को समाप्त करने की शुरुआत अवश्य की जा सकती है। इस लिए जो इस मिशन से जुड़कर जनहित में सेवा देना चाहते है वह भी हमसे अवश्य जुड़े। पत्रकारिता के इस स्वरूप को लेकर हमारी सोच के रास्ते में सिर्फ जरूरी संसाधनों की अनुपलब्धता ही बाधा है। जैसे जैसे हमारे संसाधन बढ़ेंगे, हम ज्यादा से ज्यादा लोगों तक पहुंचने की कोशिश करेंगे। हमारी पाठकों से बस इतनी गुजारिश है कि हमें पढ़ें, शेयर करें, इसके अलावा इसे और बेहतर करने के लिए सुझाव दें।
